The Sations’ music embraces the raw and mirrors the beautiful. The trio, made up of husband and wife Dom and Laura, and their sister Rachel, founded the band towards the end of 2018, and have since released six singles. Three of these (Floodgates, Thank You, Belong and I See You) were recorded with renowned NZ producer, Nic Manders. They write from their hearts, not shying away from the sometimes harsh realities of life, love and faith.
They opened for two time Grammy winner, Lauren Daigle, alongside Paper Cranes 折り鶴 at Festival One 2020. Their music has already gained global attention, with their song 'Floodgates' winning first prize in the Christian category of the 2019 International Songwriting Competition, which receives over 18,000 entries annually. It was also included in Spotify's "New Music Friday Christian" playlist in 2019.
'Belong' and ‘Thank You’ debuted at #1 on LifeFM's Youchart (New Zealand), alongside 'I See You' on LifeFm's 'Te Awa' Worship Chart . 'Thank You' was also #10 on the New Zealand Hot Music charts. ‘You Are Christmas’ was a finalist in the Radio New Zealand Christmas Song Competition, which they recorded live on Radio New Zealand on ’Afternoons with Jesse Mulligan.’ The song was transcribed for orchestra and they performed the song alongside the Auckland Symphony Orchestra at the Auckland Town Hall.
The Sations’ music has a fast-growing listenership on all major music platforms, and can be heard on radio stations around the globe. They have a highly anticipated album planned for release in 2021.
